Pedestrian Killed, Robert Findley Arrested Following Spokane Accident
Spokane, WA (November 15, 2020) – On Saturday, one person died, while police arrested 24-year-old Robert Findley in a pedestrian accident on Sunset Highway and Cannon Street.
The fatal accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. in Browne’s Addition.
Immediately, the rescuers transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he succumbed to life-threatening injuries.
On the other hand, police arrested Findley for vehicular homicide.
Moreover, the authorities closed Sunset Highway between Cannon Street and Coeur d’Alene Street for several hours as they investigated.
Authorities used large reflective barriers and glowing red road flares. Also, they parked police vehicles with their emergency lights on, to indicate the closure to passing motorists.
Just then, one driver ran over the barricades on the west side of the crash scene. As a result, barricades mangled and other debris were strewn into the street.
Minutes later, another vehicle ran over the debris and punctured its gas tank.
Authorities called a tow truck to tend to the vehicle with the ruptured fuel tank, police and fire resources were also needed.
Additionally, another vehicle drove around the roadblocks and police cars with their emergency lights on. It drove directly toward the initial crime scene where investigators were still working.
Finally, the driver stopped and was arrested for driving under the influence. Tests showed he had a blood alcohol content that was about 2½ times the legal limit.

Police asked drivers to be attentive to road closures, which increase safety for everyone on the road.
