1 Killed and Robert Barnard and Victoria Gomez Injured in Kern County Multi-Vehicle Crash

 
KERN COUNTY, CA (July 28, 2020) – Last Friday, a fatal accident on Interstate 5 near Twisselman Road involved Robert Barnard and Victoria Gomez.
 
According to reports, several motorcyclists traveled north on 5 Freeway north of Twisselman Road.
 
However, two of the riders later crashed. A 2011 Harley Davidson steered onto the right shoulder. Meanwhile, another motorcycle, a 2015 Kawasaki, crashed with 63-year-old Robert Barnard driving a vehicle.
 
Due to the impact, the 33-year-old Kawasaki rider was ejected from his bike. As Robert Barnard tried to avoid further collisions, he drove across the median and crashed with 36-year-old Victoria Villa Gomez, driving a 2013 Kia.
 
When the authorities arrived, they declared the Kawasaki rider dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Harley Davidson rider sustained moderate injuries. Responders transported the rider to Kern Medical Center.
 
The authorities continue to investigate the fatal accident.
