Afternoon 2-Vehicle Wreck on La Sierra Avenue in Riverside Kills 1 and Injures 4 Others

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (December 28, 2018) – One person was killed following a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in Riverside, authorities said.
 
The collision happened around 4:03 p.m. at the intersection of La Sierra Avenue at Lake Knoll Parkway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black GMC Denali and a black Toyota Tacoma collided for unknown reasons. One patient suffered critical injuries and was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where the individual was later pronounced dead.
 
Four other people sustained minor injuries.
 
Both vehicles were towed away for evidence.
 
At 5:30 p.m., La Sierra was still closed in the area. Lake Knoll was open only to westbound traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol log.
 
A technician was sent to Riverside Community Hospital to draw blood on a suspected impaired driver.
 
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
