72-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Pedestrian-SUV Accident
RIVERSIDE, CA (March 26, 2018) – On Monday morning around 7 AM, a 72-year-old man was rushed to the hospital following a pedestrian collision at the intersection of Collett Avenue and Pierce Street.
According to Riverside Police officials, they arrived at the scene to find a man in the road. The elderly victim was walking inside the crosswalk on Collet, when a 2000 Ford Expedition turning right from Pierce struck him.
The victim suffered major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was reported to be in critical condition.
Authorities questioned the 42-year-old SUV driver at the scene, but they did not arrest him. The case is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
