Ceres Man Dead in Modesto Accident on Nadine Avenue and Musick Avenue

 
MODESTO, CA (May 3, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, a deadly crash on Nadine Avenue and Musick Avenue involved Riley Utley and Tanner Pierce.
 
The incident occurred at around 12:05 p.m. on Nadine Avenue, west of Musick Avenue. It happened just north of the Home Depot store on Hatch Road, in Ceres.
 
According to reports, a 76-year-old Ceres man drove a 1995 Nissan sedan. Then, he stopped on the south curb of eastbound Nadine Avenue, said CHP Modesto office spokesman Officer Tom Olsen.
 
Apparently, he didn’t see an eastbound 2002 Honda sedan approaching from the rear. Thus, the Ceres man pulled out to make a U-turn directly in front of it.
 
As a result, 23-year-old Riley Utley from Modesto, the Honda driver, broadsided the Nissan. Meanwhile, the Ceres driver (who failed to use his seat belt) was transported to Doctors Medical Center. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the man due to pending family notification.
 
According to officers, Riley Utley and his 24-year-old front-seat passenger, Tanner Pierce, suffered no injuries in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
