El Paso Fatal Collision Results in Injuries
El Paso, TX (June 23, 2023) – On Wednesday, Riley Hernandez, 18, and Daniel Thurman, 19, were both killed in a t-bone crash on Gateway N Boulevard.
The fatal collision happened at around 2:29 p.m. at the intersection with 11400 McCombs Street.
Investigating officers stated that Thurman was driving a 2010 Toyota Scion XB on Gateway North Boulevard and Hernandez was his passenger.
Officials said Thurman ran the red light.
At that time, Laneisa Speller, 31, was driving a 2016 Jeep Patriot along with an 8-year-old southbound on McCombs Street.
As a result, a T-bone collision happened.
Thurman and Hernandez were transported at a hospital where they both died while Speller and the 8-year-old were injured.
Officers said that the main contributing factor to the El Paso fatal collision is running a red light.
