Motorcyclist Dead in Las Vegas Accident
LAS VEGAS, NV (May 7, 2019) – A motorcyclist died in Sunday’s crash on East Hacienda Avenue and Rappahannock Street.
According to Metro Police Lt. Chris Holmes, officers responded to the scene around 11:42 a.m.
A press statement noted that a southbound 2015 Kia Sorento on Rappahannock Street collided with a westbound 2001 Yamaha RI motorcycle.
Investigators believe the 70-year-old woman in the Kia attempted a right turn onto Hacienda Avenue before her vehicle struck the 48-year-old motorcyclist.
Following the accident, paramedics transported the motorcyclist to Sunrise Hospital where the person passed away. Meanwhile, the woman suffered minor injuries and sought treatment at a nearby hospital.
Authorities are still uncertain as to what caused the crash and where the fault lies. However, a follow-up investigation is underway.
