Children Hurt in Rancho Cucamonga Pursuit Accident, Ricky Alvarez Arrested

 
Rancho Cucamonga, CA (May 12, 2021) – On Monday, children were injured, and police arrested Ricky Alvarez, an 18-year-old Ontario man, in a vehicle crash on Euclid Avenue.
 
The pursuit began at about 1:15 a.m. when deputies tried to stop Alvarez on suspicion of committing traffic violations.
 
However, he did not stop but drove about six miles through the city and into Ontario before colliding into a tree on Euclid Avenue. The children on his vehicle later told the officers that they asked him to stop.
 
Alvarez immediately fled on foot after the crash. The deputies lost sight of him.
 
Later, at around 9 p.m., officers received word that Alvarez was being treated at a hospital due to a broken finger.
 
Authorities booked him on suspicion of felony evading, child cruelty with injury, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. He was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
 
Meanwhile, the children were taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Officers did not detail their relationship with Alvarez.
