Escondido, CA (October 2, 2020) – On September 25, 85-year-old Richard Woolsey of Escondido died two days after a head-on crash Centre City Parkway and Tierra Libertia Road.
 
The fatal crash happened on September 25, Friday at about 8 PM in the San Diego area.
 
Woolsey was the only occupant of a sedan traveling on Centre City Parkway in Escondido. Just then, an oncoming truck driven by Celso Solano Rojas, 20, crashed head-on with his vehicle.
 
The rescuers extricated and life-flighted him to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. At the hospital, he was diagnosed with multiple injuries and was confined.
 
Unfortunately. his condition worsened over the next two days.
 
He died at the hospital on Sunday at 8:16 a.m. due to his multiple blunt force injuries.
 
Furthermore, the authorities notified his next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol investigates the incident.
 
At the time of his death, Woolsey resided in Escondido with his wife.
 
Celso Solano Rojas is currently pleading not guilty to counts of manslaughter, DUI causing injury, and driving with a suspended license.
