Richard Plasch Dead in Fremont Accident While Walking Dog, Fremont Police Seeking Suspect

 
FREMONT, CA (March 10, 2021) – On March 9, Richard Plasch, 81, of Fremont died following a hit-and-run crash on 100 block of J Street.
 
Just after 6:00 a.m., the authorities received a report of a person down at the 100 block of J Street.
 
Upon the arrival of the police and Fremont Fire Department personnel, “they located a person in the roadway and immediately began to render medical aid.”
 
Initially, first responders thought that the patient might have suffered a medical emergency. However, the investigation revealed that the person might be a victim of the hit-and-run crash.
 
“The person was transported to a local trauma center and is currently hospitalized in critical condition,” police added.
 
The authorities confirmed that Mr. Plasch was walking his dog when he was struck by a car. They found the uninjured dog nearby.
