Reuben Castro Killed in Crash on 880 Freeway in San Leandro

Castro Valley Man Dies in Morning Crash on 880 Freeway at Davis Street

 
SAN LEANDRO, CA (April 29, 2019) – A man was killed following a car accident Monday morning in San Leandro, CHP officials said.
 
The man has been identified by the coroner’s office as Reuben Castro, 32, of Castro Valley.
 
Castro was a sole occupant in a vehicle that had crashed into a wall at 7:11 a.m. along the right shoulder of southbound 880 Freeway, just South of Davis Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Police issued a SigAlert due to the No. 5 lane being blocked by the collision and responding police and fire personnel.
 
Authorities are still investigating whether Castro had some kind of medical emergency that caused him to crash.
