WSP Investigates Spokane Vehicle Crash

Spokane, WA (May 2, 2024) – Emergency rescuers responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 2 Wednesday.

WSP officers said a northbound Chevy Volt attempted to merge from the shoulder and struck a GMC Yukon.

As a result, the Yukon rolled to the driver’s side and down the freeway. Troopers said the Yukon had six occupants and all of them were wearing seatbelts.

On the other hand, the Chevy Volt crossed the southbound lane and side-swiped a Chevy Pickup. The Volt then rested in the northbound lane.

Luckily, no life-threatening injuries have been reported.

Officers are still investigating the cause of the collision.

Here are some of the things we can do to prevent traffic accidents:

Start by inspecting your vehicle’s headlights and turn signals. Ensure the front and rear headlamps are working properly and visible from a few yards away.

Read your tire pressure to maintain the recommended pressure. In addition, check underneath your vehicle for leaks and loose objects.

Stay focused while on the road. Remove all distractions that could cause accidents, such as mobile phone use and unrestrained toddlers.

Most importantly, ensure the road is clear and avoid possible collisions.
