Rene Martin Dies in Fiery Multi-Car Crash on Highway 105 [Grimes County, TX]

Grimes County, TX (May 06, 2025) – 35-year-old Rene Martin of Montgomery was killed and several others were hurt in a fiery multi-car crash on Highway 105.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the shocking incident happened around 5:23 p.m. at State Highway 105 and County Road 417.

Reports say that the crash involved four vehicles.

Authorities say that a 2022 Subaru Legacy headed west on SH 105 veered into the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound 2022 Lincoln SUV. The Lincoln came to rest facing west in the eastbound lane, where an oncoming 2016 BMW motorcycle ridden by Martin struck it head-on and caught fire. A 2018 Mercedes GLC then sideswiped the Lincoln.

First responders pronounced Martin dead at the scene. Emergency crews transported the Subaru driver to Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center with serious injuries. The Lincoln’s driver and passenger and the Mercedes occupants sustained suspected minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.

Authorities are still investigating the crash as of Monday.
