Passenger Raymond Ferreyra Dead, Driver Flees in San Diego Crash on State Route 54

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 15, 2020) – On Tuesday night, a rear-end crash on State Route 54 resulted in the death of Raymond Ferreyra, 35.
 
The incident occurred on westbound Highway 54, west of the Briarwood Road exit just before 10:40 p.m.
 
According to CHP Officer Salvador Castro, a driver of a silver Honda SUV traveled west on Highway 54. However, the driver drove erratically, eventually crashing into the rear of a stopped Chevrolet pickup.
 
Reports said that the Chevrolet stopped in one of the lanes due to traffic caused by a fatal crash earlier in the evening on Reo Drive off-ramp.
 
As a result, the authorities declared a Honda passenger, Mr. Ferreyra, dead at the scene. Moreover, responders took the female Chevrolet driver to a hospital with major injuries.
 
Furthermore, the Honda driver fled the scene, and authorities say he will be facing charges.
