Gabriel Poletti Arrested for Fatal Sacramento DUI Accident on Jefferson Boulevard

 
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (February 18, 2021) – Monday night, Rasul Afzili and Anila Afzili died in a DUI crash on Jefferson Boulevard and Locks Drive.
 
Police recently arrested Elk Grove resident Gabriel Poletti, 27, in connection to the DUI head-on accident. He is expected to be booked into the Yolo County Jail.
 
Sgt. Eric Angle with the West Sacramento Police Department revealed that the car crash happened at about 11:32 p.m.
 
According to Angle, a driver collided head-on with a family in another vehicle on Jefferson Boulevard, south of Locks Drive.
 
Afterward, responders took the driver who caused the crash to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
Reports confirmed that a man, a woman, and two young children occupied the second vehicle. The crash left the Afzili couple with fatal injuries.
 
Meanwhile, it’s still unclear whether the two children sustained serious injuries. Both of them were transported to an area hospital.
 
The initial findings revealed that the driver who caused the collision was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
