Ramon Gonzalez Dies in Selma Dirt Bike Crash

SELMA, CA (November 19, 2018) – A 16-year-old Selma High School student was killed after his dirt bike crashed into a big rig on South Clovis Avenue and East Huntsman Avenue Saturday.

According to California Highway Patrol spokesperson Vic Taylor, 16-year-old Ramon Gonzalez was riding his dirt bike around 5 p.m. when he drove into a big rig.

Investigators believe the Selma teen was the lone occupant of the dirt bike that was on a trail along the roadway. Authorities further noted that he came from behind some trees to cross South Clovis Avenue when he struck the side of the semi-truck.

Gonzalez was a sophomore at Selma High School and was on the junior varsity football team. A GoFundMe page was created by his friends in honor to raise funds for his memorial.

The details of this crash are still under investigation by officers and anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
