Ramon Alberto Gutierrez Fatally Struck by Amtrak Train on Rex Road [Pico Rivera, CA]

Man Struck and Killed by Amtrak Train at Rex Road and Paramount Boulevard

 
PICO RIVERA, CA (October 18, 2019) – Authorities identified 41-year-old Ramon Alberto Gutierrez of Pico Rivera as the man fatally struck by an Amtrak train, Friday morning.
 
According to Sheriff’s Sgt. Jonathan Branham, the incident happened at about 8:55 AM. Due to unknown reasons, Gutierrez was walking along the tracks at Rex Road and Paramount Boulevard. There, an oncoming Amtrak train struck the victim.
 
Gutierrez suffered multiple blunt force trauma and died at the scene. Meanwhile, no other injuries were sustained in the collision.
 
Investigators ruled out the collision as an accident. Currently, sheriff’s homicide detectives continue to investigate the cause of the crash. They will release additional information once it becomes available.
