44-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash near Milepost 5

 
BURBANK, WA (May 5, 2018) – A collision between two vehicles sent a man to the hospital, on Saturday afternoon. He was later identified as 44-Year-Old Ramiro Villanueva, a resident of Prescott.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at around 1:46 PM. A 2008 Ford F350 pickup, driven by 55-year-old Jeffery Schwarz, was heading west on State Route 124 at milepost 5, while a 2016 Chevy pickup, driven by Villanueva, was also heading the same direction in front of Schwarz.
 
Troops stated that Villanueva was preparing to slow down for traffic, when he was struck by Schwarz’s vehicle, who was following too closely. Schwarz failed to observe and stop his vehicle on time and rear-ended Villanueva’s car.
 
The impact injured Villanueva, who was transported to Lourdes Medical Center. His current condition was not immediately available. Schwarz was reportedly unharmed from the crash, and it is unknown if charges will be filed against him.
