Bicyclist Fatally Injured in Collision with Semi on Ninth Avenue and Adler Street
WALLA WALLA, WA (January 22, 2018) – 61-year-old Ramiro Trevino was struck and killed by a semi-truck around noon on Monday.
Trevino was riding west in the roadway on Adler St, when he tried to cross Ninth Ave and was hit by a flatbed semi-trailer that was traveling north on Ninth. The victim was transported to St. Mary Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The semi driver was 59-year-old John H. Mehlschau of Reno, Nevada. Walla Walla Police Department Spokesperson, Kevin Braman, said that witnesses reported that the biker had the green light. The crash is still under investigation cy the Washington State Patrol and the Walla Walla Police Department.
