Woman Killed, 2 Drivers Detained after Las Vegas Accident near Lamb Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 28, 2021) – Tuesday morning, authorities arrested Rafael Gonzalez and Gabriel Hillary after a fatal DUI crash near Lamb Boulevard.
The department revealed that Rafael Gonzalez, the 58-year-old driver of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, didn’t yield the right of way from a stop sign. This incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. near Lamb Boulevard and Karen Avenue.
Afterward, the Hyundai collided with 54-year-old Gabriel Hillary driving a 2001 Acura MDX.
As a result, the two male drivers and a 90-year-old female passenger of the Hyundai were all taken to the hospital.
However, the woman succumbed to her injuries. At this time, the coroner’s office is withholding the identity of the deceased.
Meanwhile, reports confirmed that Gonzalez sustained moderate injuries. On the other hand, Hillary sustained minor injuries.
As a result, both drivers were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
This fatality is the 10th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2021.
The authorities continue to investigate the crash.
