Traffic Snarled after Pasadena Semi-Truck Collision on Highway 134

PASADENA, CA (December 2, 2018) – A semi-truck accident was reported on eastbound Highway 134, just west of Figueroa Street on Thursday, November 29.

California Highway Patrol received a call around 2:10 a.m. about a traffic crash in Pasadena. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two sedans blocking the lanes of the Highway 134 and a semi-truck on the right shoulder embankment.

According to the CHP incident log, the semi was sideswiped by other vehicles before it went down into the embankment.

A fuel leak was also reported at the highway. The fuel got into the soil in the right shoulder and on the surface street. The fire department was able to stop the leak and no storm drains were affected.

Lanes No. 3 and 4 were closed for several hours and caused traffic to back up. Tow services arrived to assist during the clearing operations.

Paramedics also responded to the area to treat possibly injured persons in the accident.

The circumstances on how the collision transpired were not yet released. Officials are still conducting an investigation to determine liabilities.
