49-Year-Old Man Taken to Hospital after Accident on Sidney Avenue and Lippert Drive
PORT ORCHARD, WA (March 14, 2018) – A 49-year-old Port Orchard officer was taken to the hospital after an accident on Wednesday morning around 10 AM.
According to reports, the accident took place on the intersection of Sidney Avenue and Lippert Drive at 10:04 AM.
A 28-year-old Port Orchard woman in a 2017 Ford Expedition was pulling out from Lippert, when she went into the path of the patrol vehicle, a marked Ford Explorer. The officer complained of a sore neck and was transported to the Harrison Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.
The woman was at fault for not yielding the right of way to the officer. Roadways, where the accident took place, was blocked for about four hours during the investigation. No other information regarding the condition or identities of the people involved have been disclosed at this time.
