Roads Blocked after Whitman County Crash on Highway 26
WHITMAN COUNTY, CA (April 28, 2020) – A dangerous car crash occurred on Highway 26 due to poor visibility on April 27.
Washington State Patrol confirmed that the incident was between a semi-truck and a car. However, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear.
As a result of the accident, authorities blocked the roadway about three miles west of Dusty. In addition, troopers also set up alternate routes around the area.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service and WSDOT revealed that several parts of Highway 26 have visibility of less than half a mile.
The surrounding area on Highway 26 was closed off during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
At this time, an active investigation remains ongoing. Once available, more details will be given.
If you find yourself driving in poor visibility, the chance of becoming involved in a serious car crash is high. If you continue to travel, it is your responsibility to be extra careful to avoid a crash with another vehicle. Failing to do so would be considered at-fault.
