Injuries Reported After Officer and Driver Collide in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 7, 2020) — Wednesday afternoon, an officer was injured in a two-car crash on Mission Street near 5th Street.
 
The two-vehicle accident unfolded around 1:35 p.m. Emergency responders arrived to the area shortly after.
 
According to reports, a black Toyota attempted a U-Turn onto Mission Street. There, the Toyota drove into the path of an oncoming motorcycle police officer.
 
The officer suffered unknown injuries as a result of the impact. While the unidentified officer sought treatment at a nearby hospital, the Toyota driver stayed back and cooperated with investigators.
 
Moreover, the surrounding area on Mission Street was closed off during the initial investigation. Authorities ruled out impairment as a possible source of the accident, however the case remains ongoing.
