Driver Detained After Skid-steer Loader Crashed on Pacheco Boulevard

 
Fresno, CA (May 15, 2020)– On Friday morning, a Los Banos police officer sustained injuries when he tried to stop the skid-steer driver, identified as Darwin Corales from deliberately trying to hit vehicles before crashing on Pacheco Boulevard.
 
According to the Police, they received reports of a loader crashing into cars in Mercey Springs Road and Santa Cruz Way just after 12:30 a.m. A Los Banos police officer then tried to stop the suspect, but Corrales turned the loading bucket to hit the officer.
 
Moreover, Corrales continued to drive the loader and damaged wooden fences and a metal gate at a nearby apartment complex. Eventually, Corrales crashed into a metal pole on Pacheco Boulevard. Officers used tasers and pepper spray to bring Corrales into custody.
 
Meanwhile, the injured officer immediately transported to Los Banos Memorial Hospital and is now recovering.
 
At this time, Corrales is facing several charges including, vehicle theft, resisting arrest, and assault with a deadly weapon.
