Police Officer and Driver Hospitalized after Car and Motorcycle Crash on Western Avenue [Harbor City, CA]

2 Injured in Harbor City Motorcycle Accident

 
HARBOR CITY, CA (November 15, 2018) – A Gardena Police Department motorcycle officer was transported to a hospital after a collision with another vehicle on November 14.
 
According to spokeswoman Margaret Stewart, the Los Angeles City firefighters came to respond to the collision in the 23800 block of Western Avenue about 7:50 a.m.
 
Lt. Steve Prendergast of the Gardena Police Department revealed that the Gardena officer, who was in his 30s, was listed in serious condition and in surgery at the hospital.
 
Stewart also added that the 17-year-old female driver of the vehicle was also taken to a hospital with an unknown condition.
 
Arrests were not made as of this time and the parties stayed at the crash scene following the incident.
 
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the collision. Factors that played a role in the collision is still unknown.
