Driver Arrested for DUI After Crash on US Highway 59 North in Humble

Humble, TX (February 20, 2025) – A Humble police officer sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash on US Highway 59 North on Wednesday.

Just before 10:30 p.m., the officer pulled over a yellow Mustang for speeding on U.S. Hwy. 59 North near the San Jacinto River bridge. 

While the officer conducted the stop with red and blue emergency lights activated, a white Lexus sedan crashed into the parked police vehicle.

The impact left the officer trapped inside, but he managed to break a window and escape. The crash also damaged the Mustang.

Police determined that the Lexus driver was under the influence and arrested her. Officers booked her into the Humble jail, but they have not released her name.

Emergency responders transported the officer to the hospital for treatment, and he has since been released to recover at home. 

Meanwhile, the Mustang’s driver remained unharmed and did not receive a speeding ticket. 

In a social media post, the Humble Police Department lightheartedly stated, “We let that one slide.”
