Murrieta Police Chase Ends With Crash on Jefferson Avenue, 5 People Injured

 
MURRIETA, CA (October 2, 2020) – Early Thursday morning, a Murrieta police officer suffered major injuries in a crash on Jefferson Avenue.
 
The incident started just after 3:00 a.m. when an officer attempted to stop a car for a traffic violation. This happened in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Murrieta Hot Springs Road. However, the car fled north on Jefferson Road.
 
Then, the vehicle crashed into another vehicle on Jefferson Road and Los Alamos Road. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and crashed with a southbound Murrieta patrol car responding to assist with the pursuit.
 
Responders cut out the injured officer from his overturned SUV. Then, they airlifted him to a hospital and is expected to survive.
 
On the other hand, medical responders also transported four people to a hospital. Furthermore, the two people in the suspect vehicle suffered major injuries. Meanwhile, the two occupants of a car struck by the pursued vehicle suffered minor to moderate injuries.
