28-Year-Old Female Suspect Detained after Auto Collision on Court Street in Pasco

 
PASCO, WA (May 6, 2020) – Late Tuesday evening, 28-year-old Julieta Lopez, was arrested after a hit-and-run crash on Court Street.
 
Officer first received reports around 11:00 p.m. According to the police reports, Lopez was test driving a blue 1996 Ford Taurus when she struck two oncoming cars for unknown reasons. In addition, a third driver was forced to slam their brakes to prevent a crash.
 
Following the impact, Lopez attempted to flee the scene, starting the northbound pursuit on 18th Avenue. She then headed east on Pearl Street through a residential neighborhood before the chase ended in an alley off Agate Street.
 
“The pursuit ended with the driver coming to a dead end and the car rolling up against a fence,” police revealed.
 
The officer then approached Julieta Lopez and took her out of the car. They detained her on the ground while backup responded.

Incident Aftermath

 
Authorities also discovered that Julieta Lopez drove with a revoked license. They booked her into Franklin County Jail and she is now on an investigative hold for attempting to elude. The officers also noted that she may face misdemeanor charges.
 
At this time, police are trying to determine whether the car was stolen or not. However, the registered owner clarified that Lopez was planning to buy the car and was just test driving it when the incident happened.
