Two People Die in Fatal Plane Crash after a Take-Off in Monterey Airport

Monterey, CA (July 13, 2021) – Tuesday morning, the 74-year-old pilot  Mary Ellen Carlin and her passenger 61-year-old  Alice Diane Emig died when their plane crashed in Monterey airport.

The plane crash happened on July 13.

Reportedly, a twin-engine Golden Eagle Cessna plane crashed into a home shortly after taking off from the Monterey Airport.

The family of the passenger said Carlin, of Pacific Grove, was piloting the plane with Emig from Rancho Cordova. Emig’s wiener dog, Toby, was also onboard.

Moreover, the family said deputies told them no one survived the crash. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has not reported who was on the plane and if bodies have been recovered from the crash.

Further investigation into this fatal incident is ongoing.
