Police Arrest Suspects in Hit-and-Run Crash on 40th Street

Phoenix, AZ (March 15, 2023) – On Wednesday morning, a traffic collision on Oak Street seriously injured a Phoenix Police Department officer.

According to Phoenix PD, the hit-and-run crash happened around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection with 40th Street.

Reports say that a vehicle wrecked a marked patrol vehicle. The collision caused severe damage to the patrol vehicle, even trapping the officer inside the vehicle. 

Phoenix Fire Department crews extricated the officer from the vehicle. Officials rushed the injured officer to a hospital for treatment. 

Meanwhile, police arrested the occupants of the vehicle who crashed into the patrol vehicle, after they fled the scene.
