Robert Baxter, Philipp Reis Injured in Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 22, 2019) – Two people sustained critical injuries after a pedestrian accident on Las Vegas Boulevard on August 20.
The incident occurred just before 6:35 a.m. on 3475 South Las Vegas Boulevard. According to reports, a bus hit two pedestrians. In addition, the accident happened near the Mirage and Harrah’s casino-resorts. As a result, police shut down a portion of southbound Las Vegas Boulevard.
According to Lt. Allen Larsen with LVMPD, the two pedestrians stepped in a marked crosswalk. However, the southbound bus was on a green light when the crash happened.
Responders transported 32-year-old Phillip Reis and 59-year-old Robert Baxter to UMC in critical condition.
During the investigation, authorities shut down the southbound side of the Strip is closed from Mirage to Harrah’s. The two pedestrians were intoxicated during the incident.
Meanwhile, the bus driver didn’t suffer impairment and stayed at the scene of the collision.
