Mattawa, WA (June 5, 2023) – At about 4 p.m. on Sunday, a person died and two others sustained injuries in a 2-vehicle collision west of Vernita Bridge.

Officers said a vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on.

Two people who were riding the vehicle that crossed the centerline sustained serious injuries while the person in the vehicle that was struck died.

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating the cause of the Mattawa fatal traffic accident.
