1 Airlifted after Fontana Car Accident on 15 Freeway

 
FONTANA, CA (January 9, 2020) – A Pepsi truck driver sustained serious injuries after a car accident on 15 Freeway on January 8.
 
A vehicle overturned on 15 Freeway just before 11:30 a.m. First responders arrived near the Sierra Avenue exit.
 
The 48-year-old driver of the vehicle was trapped. As a result, the Pepsi truck’s payload spilled across an embankment near the side of the freeway.
 
The San Bernardino County firefighters extricated the driver from the wreckage. A helicopter was also dispatched to the scene to transport the driver to a nearby hospital. Medics say the victim was suffering from serious injuries.
 
All northbound lanes on 15 Freeway were closed while crews worked on the scene. Upon the helicopter’s depart, the CHP reopened all lanes. The collision remains under investigation.
