People Injured in Plane Collision on US 281 [Burnet, TX]

Burnet, TX (December 19, 2023) – Three people sustained injuries following a plane collision on US 281 Sunday afternoon.

The plane collision unfolded around 2:15 p.m. south of Delaware Springs Boulevard.

According to the investigators, the plane had taken off from the Burnet airport and struck a power line before it crashed into the southbound lanes of the freeway wherein it struck a passenger car.

The car driver was transported to a medical facility and was released shortly after while the pilot and passenger were rushed to a medical facility in Austin with burn injuries.

Later on, the plane was towed from the highway to the Burnet airport. 

The FAA will handle the investigation on the accident.
