Peggy Moore Dies in State Route 76 Collision [Fallbrook, CA]

Fallbrook, CA (May 13, 2024) – East Bay political leaders Peggy Moore and her wife, Hope Wood, were killed in a State Route 76 collision Friday night.

Investigators said a silver Chrysler 300 was driven eastbound on the freeway. Suddenly, the vehicle swerved onto the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a white Jeep Gladiator driven by a 58-year-old man.

Consequently, a silver Toyota Camry behind the Jeep was involved in a minor sideswipe.

Sadly, the Chrysler and Jeep drivers, along with Peggy Moore, and Hope Wood, were killed in the collision on Horse Ranch Creek Road.

A third passenger in the Jeep incurred minor injuries.

In the meantime, troopers are investigating why the Chrysler driver veered into oncoming traffic. Similarly, officers are figuring out if alcohol or drugs played a role.

Moore and Hope established the political consulting firm Hope Action Change in 2019.
