CLAYTON, CA (September 21, 2019) – A pedestrian sustained major injuries after an accident on Clayton Road on Saturday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Lydia Lane at approximately 8:30 PM. Based on a report, the victim was struck by an unidentified vehicle. It was not clear if the incident occurred at a crosswalk.
 
The paramedics confirmed that the victim was sent to the hospital after suffering traumatic injuries.
 
The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. Police said the investigation is ongoing, but that alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
