2 Unidentified Victims Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash on 110 Freeway in Wilmington

 
WILMINGTON, CA (May 7, 2020) – Tuesday afternoon, a pedestrian and a motorcyclist were both killed in an accident on 110 Freeway.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:20 p.m. At this time, the authorities have not yet determined why the woman was on the freeway.
 
Police later revealed that a 67-year-old male motorcyclist from San Pedro was riding south on Pacific Coast Highway when he spotted a female pedestrian and tried to veer out of the way.
 
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old female pedestrian was walking west from the right shoulder of the northbound lanes. She was then struck between the two far left lanes.
 
Reports also stated that her last known address was in Hawthorne.
 
Due to a lack of details, further events leading up to the collision remain unclear. Once available, more information regarding the collision will be released to the public.
 
Moreover, the surrounding area on 110 Freeway was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary investigation.
 
Authorities diverted traffic onto Pacific Coast Highway. However, the roadway has since reopened.
