APPLE VALLEY, CA (July 26, 2021) – Saturday night, a 62-year-old pedestrian died in a crash on State Highway 18 and Corwin Road.
 
The incident occurred at around 10:44 p.m. on State Highway 118, west of Corwin Road.
 
According to the preliminary investigation, the pedestrian crossed the highway. At the same time, the driver of a 2016 Kia Forte tried to veer but hit the pedestrian. The incident happened in the westbound lanes of Highway 18.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died of his injuries. At this time, his identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old female Kia driver quickly stopped and reported the incident to 911. She suffered minor injuries and has received treatment at the scene.
