1 Dead in San Pablo Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 80 near San Pablo Dam Road

 
SAN PABLO, CA (March 4, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a pedestrian died in a crash on Interstate 80 near San Pablo Dam Road.
 
According to the CHP, three cars struck a pedestrian walking on Interstate 80. As a result, the pedestrian died and led authorities to close down two lanes.
 
The investigation revealed that the pedestrian walked near San Pablo Dam Road. Then, at about 5:05 a.m., a vehicle hit the pedestrian.
 
At this time, it’s unclear if the man succumbed to injuries because of the crash or whether it was the cumulative effect. All of the three drivers remained at the scene.
 
“He was walking in the right-hand lane,” CHP spokesman Officer Sean Layton revealed. Layton also noted that it was very dark in that area. “We don’t know why he was walking on the freeway.”
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t identified the man who was believed in his 50s.
 
Furthermore, the CHP initiated a SigAlert for severe traffic that took effect at about 6:45 a.m.
