Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Las Vegas Crash on Sahara Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 28, 2020) – Monday morning, a pedestrian died in an accident on Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard.

The incident occurred around 8:56 a.m. on Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, said LVMPD spokesman Larry Hadfield.

Reports from the police revealed that a 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck hit a pedestrian who crossed against a “Don’t Walk” traffic signal. The pickup truck headed west on Sahara Avenue. Furthermore, it drove with a solid green light before the collision.

Responders transported the pedestrian to University Medical Center Trauma. Unfortunately, the patient succumbed to injuries.

“The pedestrian was thrown in a western direction landing in the roadway and then slid, tumbled to a final rest in the left of three westbound travel lanes,” a report stated.

Meanwhile, the vehicle driver stayed at the scene and tried to help the victim. Moreover, the authorities do not suspect impairment as a factor in the crash.

Furthermore, the authorities confirmed that this fatality is the 81st traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for the year 2020.

Moreover, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department handles the crash investigation.
