Jennie Closson Injured in Kennewick Pedestrian Accident

KENNEWICK, WA (January 4, 2019) – A woman was hospitalized on December 31 after a driver struck her on Highway 240 in Kennewick.

The incident occurred about 6:45 p.m. on eastbound Highway 240 at milepost 41 near the Edison Street overpass.

According to Washington State Patrol, 36-year-old Jennie Closson was walking in the roadway when a GMC Canyon pickup male driver struck her.

Closson sustained injuries and was transported to Trios Health, according to WSP. Officials at Trios Health revealed that Closson was transferred to another hospital sometime before 9:30 p.m.

WSP revealed that Closson caused the collision by being in the roadway. The reason why she was walking on 240 is still unknown.

Investigators also clarified that the driver was not under the influence, not injured and not charged with a crime.
