Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on Cherry Avenue near Woodland Drive [Fontana, CA]

1 Hospitalized after Fontana Pedestrian Crash near Woodland Drive

 
FONTANA, CA (October 23, 2020) – Wednesday morning, a pedestrian suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Cherry Avenue.
 
The incident happened at around 12:20 a.m. on Cherry Avenue.
 
According to the preliminary information, a 32-year-old male pedestrian walked across Cherry Avenue from east to west. However, a vehicle struck him in the no. 2 lane of southbound Cherry Avenue near Woodland Drive.
 
The authorities said that the driver stopped to check the victim down on the ground. However, the driver fled west on Woodland Drive.
 
When medical responders arrived, they took the victim to an area hospital. However, the pedestrian was listed in critical but stable condition.
 
The authorities described the suspect as a “man in his 20s who was driving a light-colored four-door car.”
 
Furthermore, Fontana P.D.’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) handles the investigation. They also shut down the streets as they worked at the scene.
 
“The MAIT investigators are seeking the assistance of those who live, work or were driving in the area during the time frame to check your vehicle’s dash cameras and surveillance cameras for any footage which may lead to the identity of the suspect,” the P.D. revealed.
