Driver Arrested in Yville Pedestrian Accident on Shellmound Street
YVILLE, CA (January 30, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a pedestrian sustained injuries in a DUI hit-and-run crash on Shellmound Street.
The incident happened at around 1:17 p.m. in the 4400 block of Shellmound Street.
According to an Emeryville police spokesperson, an unidentified vehicle struck a pedestrian for still unknown reasons. Then, the vehicle driver abandoned the scene and fled the scene on foot.
Moreover, Alameda County Fire Department paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a hospital with major injuries.
Furthermore, officers managed to locate and arrest the suspect. Officers confirmed that the suspect will be facing felony DUI, fleeing the scene of a collision, and gun possession charges.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
