MERCED, CA (May 11, 2021) – Monday morning, a pedestrian sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Ashby Road near Cooper Avenue.
 
According to Merced Police Department, the incident happened at around 1:13 a.m. Furthermore, it occurred in the area of Ashby Road, east of Cooper Avenue.
 
Upon their arrival, responders found the 35-year-old male pedestrian. His injuries fit the sign of being hit by a vehicle. Also, the victim said that the suspect vehicle struck him as he walked eastbound on Ashby Road.
 
Afterward, responders transported the victim to a Modesto-area hospital with critical injuries.
 
Also, officials said that the suspect vehicle fled the scene on westbound Ashby Road.
