Pedestrian Collision Occurs Amid Flooding near Lawrence Expressway

CUPERTINO, CA (December 17, 2018) – The authorities responded to a vehicle and pedestrian crash on southbound 280 Freeway, Monday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 1:32 AM, just north of Lawrence Expressway. Based on their report, a silver RAV-4 was involved in the incident. The identity of the pedestrian victim was not yet known. No specific details were released regarding the contact.

The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. They had not yet released a report regarding the injuries sustained by the victim.

Flooding was reported in the No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 lanes. A clearing operation was conducted to prevent further disruption in the flow of traffic in the area. The authorities are still trying to gather details from reports and witnesses. Additional information will be released following the conclusion of the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible.

Always give way to pedestrians walking in the streets. They become more prone to road accidents due to negligent and distracted drivers. Weaving in and out of lanes is dangerous. Always stay at your lane and be aware of the presence of other motorists around you.
