1 Injured in San Diego Pedestrian Accident

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 7, 2019) – A pedestrian sustained injuries in a collision with a pickup truck on Carlsbad Boulevard on May 5.
 
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m., near Carlsbad Boulevard and Tierra del Oro Street. First responders arrived to the area soon after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
 
According to reports, the vehicle involved was identified as a northbound Toyota Tacoma. The 18-year-old female driver struck a man strolling east across Carlsbad Boulevard. He was allegedly walking outside of a marked crosswalk at the time.
 
Medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The pedestrian was reportedly suffering from a serious head injury as a result of the impact.
 
The surrounding roadway was blocked off for a brief time while crews worked to clean the scene. An investigation is currently ongoing to determine further details. More information will eventually be released once available.
