VENTURA, CA (December 20, 2020) – Friday night, a pedestrian suffered serious injuries in an accident on Victoria Avenue and Valentine Road.

The incident happened at about 5:34 p.m. on the southbound side of Victoria Avenue. This crash happened between Valentine Road and the northbound freeway onramp.

Meanwhile, the vehicle driver that hit the pedestrian stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the police investigation.

Pedestrians and Accidents

Pedestrians have the right of way at any crosswalk or intersection. Therefore, it’s a driver’s responsibility to yield and be prepared to stop.

While car accidents are far more common, there is still reason to be wary when traveling on foot.

Furthermore, common locations for these pedestrian accidents include street corners and intersections.

“Pedestrian accidents do not occur as much as motor vehicle accidents. Nevertheless, they tend to include more serious injuries,” says Tyler Toomey, of Sweet Lawyers.
