Male Pedestrian Killed on Pico Avenue in San Marcos Accident

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (July 15, 2019) – A man in a wheelchair died during Saturday’s pedestrian crash on Pico Avenue near West San Marcos Boulevard.
 
According to reports, the incident unfolded around 1:53 p.m., near West San Marcos Boulevard. First responders arrived on Pico Avenue shortly after receiving dispatch calls in the area.
 
Reports say a 39-year-old woman attempted a turn from a gas station in her Toyota Tacoma. However, her pickup rammed into the man, who authorities say was crossing on Pico Avenue.
 
Paramedics arrived shortly after and brought the 81-year-old victim to Palomar Medical Center where he died moments later.
 
Investigators noted that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the collision, but the incident remains under investigation.
