BART Train Strikes, Kills Person in El Cerrito

 
EL CERRITO, CA (April 9, 2019) – A BART train fatally struck a pedestrian Monday morning at the El Cerrito del Norte station on San Pablo Drive.
 
According to news reports, the Warm Springs-bound train struck the man around 7:30 a.m. As a result of the incident, crews closed off the train station, as well as a nearby Richmond station, for the next three hours due to investigations.
 
The unidentified victim’s identity has yet to be released but he was declared dead around 8:45 a.m. by BART.
 
The cause of this crash remains unclear at this point. However, officials are investigating the details further.
